Andrew’s Freedom

I drove to Visalia yesterday to give my new friend, Andrew, his custom built Freedom Concepts bike. When I arrived, he wasn’t feeling too good, it was 106, and well honestly I didn’t blame him for hiding inside. But his Dad, Joseph, brought him outside and his Mom, Marianna, was waiting with me for the big unveiling. To our utter delight, he perked right up, gave a giggle and once loaded on and… all the safety straps secure, off he went. He loved it! And as soon as he was riding, he was making loops around the cul-de-sac, his

Izzie’s Inaugural Bike Ride

I wanted to send you this video of Izzie’s inaugural bike ride that was held a couple of weeks ago in San Francisco. As you can see from the video, we had a big bike ride to celebrate her “new ride” and Izzie is completely in love with her new adaptive bicycle. Thank you so much for all of your help in giving Izzie the opportunity to ride along side her friends and family. This means the world to her and to our family to have Izzie be able to participate in physical activities along side other children. We

Bryan’s Freedom

Dear Freedom Concepts, My entire family would like to thank you soooo much for producing such a wonderful bike for our son. Having his own bike to ride has brought such joy to our son. Bryan now can go out for a bike ride with his little sisters and his best friend (his service dog Tyak). Bryan no longer needs to sit in his wheelchair and watch his sisters and the other kids in the neighborhood ride their bikes. He now has his own! We no longer need to hear Bryan ask us why he doesn’t have a bike.

When we started our equipment journey in the spring of 2013, I had no idea what was out there.   Wheel chairs, gait trainers, bath seats… the list goes on.  Not only are there so many different pieces of equipment, most need

Inclusion at Its Finest

Conlan’s Freedom Concepts bike, gifted from The McLindon Family Foundation, is not just a bike for my son. It has such a deeper meaning! This bike defines ability – letting Conlan be independent and giving him pride! It is inclusion at its best. For the first time ever, at the age of 7 years old, he rode a bike with his sister. He also got to hang out with the neighborhood children his age, and for once the view of the child in the wheelchair vanished and they were all so focused on Conlan’s awesome new bike! Conlan was
